Superior and Sustainable Metal Production
The Intec Process comprises a suite of related hydrometallurgical technologies employing a concentrated halide electrolyte to extract and recover high-purity base and precious metals from a range of mineral feedstocks. Applications include copper, zinc/lead, nickel, gold, and polymetallic materials, with the option of treating both sulphide and oxide feeds, alone or in combination.
The Intec Process offers a number of advantages based on the fact that it is a low temperature, atmospheric pressure, non-cyanide based technology.
For a more detailed description of the generic Intec Process, click here. Details of the more specialised Intec Process applications are below.
Intec Copper Process is a proven, patented hydrometallurgical process for the extraction of pure copper and precious metals from sulfide concentrates. more
Intec Zinc Process is a patented hydrometallurgical process for the production of high purity zinc metal and associated by-products from metallurgically complex sulphide concentrates. more
Intec Nickel Process: Bench scale experimentation and a small pilot plant have shown that the internationally patented Intec Process for the production of base metals can be applied to nickel/cobalt concentrates (the “Intec Nickel Process”). The test work to date has been very promising, and the Intec Nickel Process is now ready for testing on a demonstration scale. more
Intec Gold Process is a chloride-based hydrometallurgical process for the treatment of refractory gold concentrates. more
Patents
The core technology of the Intec Process has been patented extensively both in Australia and overseas. The Directors do not currently foresee any impediment to the continued orderly registration of the patents in remaining jurisdictions or to Intec’s rights to assert exclusive entitlement to the intellectual property which is the subject of the patents.
