		Winner:  Environmental Solution of the Year 7th Annual Manufacturers' Monthly Endeavour Awards  www.manmonthly.com.au/awards "Throughout 2009, Intec used its Tasmanian technical facility to recycle heavy metals contained in previously intractable industrial waste sludge and residue. The company's recycling operation, which has been in development for over 20 years, extracts and recovers heavy metals into useful mineral products." 		Finalist: Sulo Innovation in Sustainability Award Enviro 2010 conference www.enviro2010.com.au "Intec developed and successfully trialled a process for recycling waste sludges, residues and filter cakes, particularly those with high levels of lead, zinc, copper and tin contamination. Working with an engaged and committed client and the EPA, this process diverted hundreds of tonnes of waste (which previously had been stockpiled with nowhere to go) back into the useful product stream, ultimately benefiting the community and the natural environment.

		Finalist: Eco Innovation Category 2009 Banksia Awards “A publicly-listed Australian company, Intec Ltd has ‘cracked the nut’ of an industry problem that has waited decades for a viable technology and engineering solution. At its Burnie Research Facility, Intec developed a process to recycle heavy metal-contaminated inorganic waste materials, which are produced by industrial manufacturers globally.”
		Winner: Technology of the Year Excellence in Exploration & Mining, 2005 “This award is given to a company that is developing a technology that will help create further wealth in our industry. Mining is one of the world's great industries for technology and innovation providing leadership to others in construction, ventilation, the environment and waste processing. This award recognises a technology which is or will benefit the mining industry and bring it tangible benefits.” This Award was given by the Hon.
